Met Eireann's Joanna Donnelly shared an incredible photo of the weather that's in store for us this week

NOW WE WOULDN’T mind a bit of snow around Christmas.
But it’s the end of February now. People have jobs to go to. Kids need to go to school. We’ve all had our fill of cold weather and we just want to get on with it and move into summer.
Has spring called in sick this year? Will we see any semblance of summer at all in 2018? At the moment, it looks like the answer is no.

In 2016, Met Eireann forecaster Joanna Donnelly shared this photograph of one of the hottest summers she had ever witnessed in Ireland.

Ugh. We wouldn’t mind a bit of that now.
Today, she shared a photograph of this week’s forecast. Which is the polar opposite.
To think there’s still people out there who deny the existence of climate change. We had a hurricane a few months ago. What ever happened to mild weather?

What did we ever do to deserve this?
Joanna also reminded us all to be careful this winter. Bring the cows in. And the cats and dogs. Check on your neighbours, especially elderly ones, or those who rely on medication. Here are some charities you can donate to if you want to make sure that everyone’s got a roof over their head on the baltic evenings that we’re expecting.
And don’t forget, it’s 2018. Nobody needs mobile phone credit anymore. Most people have free calls, texts and unlimited internet, so there’s no point in hoarding all of that credit on your phone.
